Loadout oddity - F-16 Blk 52+

Post by Knightpawn »

Check the picture below. This is from community scenario <Greek - Turkish EEZ Conflict - Greek Human>
The F-16s have two AGM-154C loadouts (among others), one named "Heavy" (DB ID 33432) and the other "Short-Range" (DB ID 9481). The heavy shows that the plane will carry eight (8) AGM-154C (is this even possible?!), while the Short Range four (4). The only other difference is that the Heavy has an extra 300 USG drop tank. However both have same strike range (390 nm) and the number of available magazines is the same (48) for both configurations (i would expect that it should be 24 for the Heavy). Something does not seem to fit with the "Heavy"

Thanks. I had no idea about this forum. Is it for DB matters only?

Have you try how far they can fly?

While it should be report to DB team, it might just be an incorrect description entry.

I have not tried. But the most weird thing is that there are 48 available magazines for both configurations (the one with 8 AGMs and the other with 4 AGMs). Presumably the former configuration should show half the magazines
This is the Grok answer by the way (just asked):
"The maximum loadout of AGM-154C missiles on an F-16 Block 52 is four. This configuration utilizes dual-rack adapters (such as the BRU-57/A) on two underwing stations (typically stations 3 and 7), enabling two missiles per rack. Such loadouts have been observed and reported on operational Block 52+ variants, including those in service with the Hellenic Air Force, where a four-missile setup supports extended-range strike missions while maintaining compatibility with conformal fuel tanks and other stores. Greater quantities are not feasible due to aerodynamic, weight, and pylon limitations, with typical mission profiles prioritizing a balance of standoff weapons, air-to-air missiles, and fuel."
