New player accessibility

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

New player accessibility

Post by RedwoodForest »

Forgive me if this was already mentioned in a dev diary that I missed, but as someone relatively new to computer wargames, I was wondering how War in Spain will handle accessibility. I understand that it is likely heavily targeting the pre-existing War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition audience and "grognards," but will there be tutorial scenarios? How will new players unfamiliar with other "monster" games be eased in, if at all?

I'm in, regardless, but I've found some older games to be daunting when I'm simply slapped with a huge manual instead of tutorials that slowly build in complexity.

Thank you!

We've got a whole one man department in charge of producing our youtube video tutorials, they will start appearing immediately after the release.
