If it is not a bug, so what is it?

Road to Leningrad scenario
Soviet 2nd turn Air phase
158 IAP PVO located at Pskov airbase with only 70% Air support, 65 ready AC, no fatigue, a bit lack of fuel 274/318, Morale/Exp 61/63
Air doctrine settings :
% Req to fly - 5%
Mission AC - 100
Escort AC -100

AD, stage base Pskov, ground attack/ unit attack to hexe 195,128 to bomb 8th Panzer. Noone flies in escort even if you put one plane only to escort and all the mission is canceled. :?:
If you set escort to zero or auto, system picks Dno airbase as a stage base and 158 IAP PVO doesn't participate in it because i is not his native base. ( This is quite clear)

BUT, if you run interdiction missions from Pskov airbase as a stage base to a hexe 191,128( area 1) then 30 Yak-1 from 158 IAP PVO join as escort, right accurately as was pointed in AD :?
So is it a bug or what....?

I have only one answer or question :?:
What happens if maximum number of command points for AOG is exeeded? Living manual states nothing about this :?
In my case 158 IAP PVO is a part of 39 IAD and has a limit of 45 command points. So it can hold only 5 air regiments, but it really holds six(6) :? . Do such overload has an influence on air mission performance :?:
Any ideas?

So carrying on my reaserch of 158 IAP PVO  i came to a conclusion that if is not a bug, so may be PVO assets have some speicial traits that are not willing them to move in escort for airstrike missions :!:
But they are quite good in escorting recon and ground attack/interdiction missions

There could be an issue with units that are assigned over the command limits for the AOG. That shouldn't happen, but I see it is set up that way in the scenario. I'd suggest moving the extra units to other AOGs. I'll ask Pavel if this could cause issues. Thanks for the report.

Thanks for reply Joel :)
I haven't given up and i found where was the "bug"
Follow path, if it is on than everything is okay and every Yak_-1 flies according AD in needed quantity ( in my case about 30)
But if the field with follow path is not marked, than system or engine puts another stage base and there could be only partial escort( in my case it is Dno stage base)
My fatal mistake was not to mark follow path, cause from Pskov airbase to target goes straight , direct line through the friendly territory and no enemy flak should be avoided, because there is no enemy units there, and I left it as it is but it had a great effect on how my AD was conducted. :geek:
I hope now everythig has got clear and nothing uncommon will appear
