Questions about cultural adjustment score and culture

Hello,
I have a minor regime with a very high fertility rate, and I'm eager to maintain their culture. However, I’m unsure about the impact of the Cultural Adjustment Score (CAS). Does increasing the CAS lead to them merging into my mixed culture and losing their own? Or does it simply make them more accepting of my culture while retaining their identities?

Additionally, if members of the minor regime's culture immigrate to my capital zone, do they lose their culture?

Finally, what culture do the Free Folk belong to?
