Flight plans

Post by tsitzmann »

In playing the Fail Safe scenario in Northern Inferno, once the EAM's are initiated the aircraft start flying their pre-built missions, however the flight plans do not show up, nor do they update when selecting the mission editor. I must be missing something but do not know what, and yes I do have them selected.

From my experience, Flight Plans really can't be altered very much. The plan could be drawn, but if your edits extend too far, then you end up with exactly what you described, a blank screen. I assume that that is the program's way of not allowing a flight if the fuel and altitude aren't going to be conducive to being able to conduct the mission.

Additionally, from what I have seen, after the Flight Plan has been created, and after your times are set, then there is no more opportunity to make any changes. Even a slight move of a waypoint could be enough of a change that the Flight Plan can not handle. I was working on that specific topic just last night. Originally, I believed that if you created something and then changed to something requiring less fuel (i.e. high altitude/lower speed) that the Flight Path would be okay. I now know that that isn't always the case. In fact, this version is less forgiving than all of the rest, in my opinion.

I don't have a problem with this. I'm just passing along my observations.
