Creating/Modifying Units

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Creating/Modifying Units

Post by Schmauser »

Looking forward to RangerJoe's input as I have read his AAR. Of course anyone can chip in so don't be shy.

Have multiple loot depots(RSV) containing Requetes Squads playing as the Nationalists. Just started popping up all over the map. Some after combat and others.......well not sure where they came from. Figured why not modify those loot depots to Infantry units and put them to work since I have plenty of production to cover game created units and replacements. Also have plenty of Chauchat LMGs and captured mortars/wagons/trucks/guns to build some effective units.

I'm well and good messing with the TOE and devices including merging. What stumps me is that I only have the option to create/modify the loot depot to an infantry division or brigade. Checked existing units and this is the same. Realize that Division/Brigade is just a "container" but would like to create batallions and companies. Am I thick headed in only seeing Division/Brigade or is this WAD?

Thanks in advance.

Those RSV units popping up might be your replacements for you units in combat! That is, if you have the setting so the replacements come in the RSV units.

Captured devices can also be added to existing units or they can substitute for your devices when you change the device to a different device.

You can also just convert the loot unit into a unit which is what I tend to do for the longer ranged artillery units.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

Thanks. I'm not taking replacements from RSV units so I don't think it was that. Was actually thinking they may be deserters. LOL

Any idea why I can only create infantry brigades and divisions? I'm thinking it is WAD since armor is locked to brigades/regiments, logistics to batallions, cavalry to companies, artillery to regiments, etc.....
