Illumination not lighting up

In the game, atleast when I play it, and have tried uninstalling and checking of file-verification in Steam etc, the Illumination simply doesn't work.

The button for it is there, and it will re-light up again after some time after clicking it, but it doesn't work. The map is not illuminated, and I even thought it might just be a visual glitch, but then if it HAD worked, I would have seen more enemy units, right, and I don't.

Furthermore I STILL wish for the old "Flee option" in the game.
