Some problems with the editor

Post by jugasa77 »

Hello, I am trying the scenario editor for the first and I have found a problem. There is no problem when editing major power moral for infantry, cavalry and guards. But when I try to edit the moral of minor country is impossible. For example, Portugal has 2 points of moral for infantry and cavalry and I cannot change this values to 3 when editing the scenario. The same happens when editing moral for the Ottoman Empire and many other minor countries. I have installed the last patch: 1.27.xx and I cannot edit these values. Thanks.

Hello, I have been creating my own 1805 scenario and have changed the start date form Jan 1805 to March 1805. I start playing the scenario and the game start at March but when I reach May the game bugs and the May month begins to play the same month again and again. I think that the editor is somehow unstable and I hope this can be solved with the next patch. However, the original scenarios are fine but the scenario editor is unstable. Thanks.

Yes, the editor has several problems. To create the Classic EIA and Alternate EIH scenarios currently in the game, I often had to manually edit the data files and sometimes hardwire some items into the code for 1812 and 1813. To create any new scenarios with different start dates and different morale values and such, you'll likely run into problems pretty quick as you have discovered. For now, best to stick with the scenarios provided and make minor edits to the OOBs.

Moving forward, we may be making some map and data files changes. The editor could use some work. It would be nice if the editor was more functional than it is, to allow players to create other scenarios and campaigns (e.g., 1788, 1796). We'll see what happens.
