Reverse slopes?

Reverse slopes?
Just throwing this out there but have you considered using 3D slopes similar to the new WDS games graphics for the Musket and Pike series?

Re: Reverse slopes?
That's what they used to look like, back in the day.
You can still modify for the slope files, if you wish. They are all just BMP's.
Here is a video to show you how to make a quick mod using some of the old terrain, but also works for making your own graphics.

Don't forget, you can also flip the map perspective.
ALT + F and it will flip the map.

That's right. But you will still see a blank reverse slope graphic from the other side..

I know how to mod everything.Jason Petho wrote: Thu Jun 18, 2026 6:01 am That's what they used to look like, back in the day.

Re: Reverse slopes?
OK!
Just checking, some don't, so offering some help.
If you make a set, I can see about adding it as a MOD.

I'm at V1.5 for my Vietnam mod now.
I 'd like to be able to redo everything though. Start with one base graphic. One base terrain.
It would save a a lot of time with changes.
Adding the additional slope would be a start.
Actually this would change everything,

Oh, I see, I see the same as you.
I think it's because you reported one of the posts in the thread.

Re: Reverse slopes?
Unfortunately, I can't fix that.
Is there an undo? lol

Re: Reverse slopes?
Wish there was.
Getting back on topic though.......
I believe you share the same graphics and code as WDS {John Tiller). I think if you could add the code for the reverse slope it will be game changing as far as 3D graphics.

Re: Reverse slopes?
Hello, Jason pointed me to this thread. I am not sure I understand the request. Are you looking for a new side entry in a Reverse Slope? Would it have a Combat modifier, and how would it differ from Crest side, for instace? Or is this just for visuals, ie. a graphics mod.
Sorry, I don't own the WDS game you refer to, so not able to compare. I just added the 2D Slope graphic to games a couole of updates ago, it was already in 3D side, but for some reason not drawn in the 2D hex rendering. That was just a visual update, hence the question. Something similar here, or?

Re: Reverse slopes?
Just for visuals. It would show the crest or slope in 3D. Right now you have this for the slopes. but I think visually in 3D it would be helpful to add the top crest or slope. Hope this makes sense.Crossroads wrote: Sun Jun 21, 2026 8:44 am Hello, Jason pointed me to this thread. I am not sure I understand the request. Re: Reverse slopes?
Just to understand this correctly, wouldn’t it be possible to mod the existing 3D Slope and/or Crest graphics for this purpose?

Interesting idea. I'll check it out.Crossroads wrote: Mon Jun 22, 2026 5:01 pm Just to understand this correctly, wouldn’t it be possible to mod the existing 3D Slope and/or Crest graphics for this purpose?
I just thought it might be easier to add the straight slope/crest graphic to the 3Dslopes files. It looked like there was room for another entry.

Re: Reverse slopes?
Cheers, let me know how it plays out! Some of these file templates have been here there and everywhere, it is always helpful if existing structures could be modified instead of adding new ones.

Re: Reverse slopes?
Unfortunately it didn't work. I think there is only so much room in the grid pattern. I did see it but it doesn't extend all the way.Crossroads wrote: Tue Jun 23, 2026 7:06 pm Cheers, let me know how it plays out!
