HQ Type Field

Post by Dereck »

I'm seeing values in the HQ Type field that doesn't make sense and I can't find mention of in my old Editor Manual.

I thought the only HQ Types were 100 (Command), 0 (Corps), 20 (Naval), 30 (Amphib) and 50 (Air) yet I'm seeing values like the photo below of 221. I'm not sure what the 221 means and there are a lot of other units with just 0 for the HQ Type (which i would expect since they aren't HQs).

I think Kull's answer from this thread is probably correct

My guess is it is just a stray data entry, an artifact, from the original scenario construction. Page 36 of the editor manual states it is not a meaningful value for that type of unit. FWIW, I have zeroed out a few of them and never noticed an issue.

Try the unofficial manual page 30 in this case.

Okay so it sounds like setting the HQ type to 0 for all non-HQs in the TOE and units won't cause any problems except to make things consistent. (I'm a retired database programmer/DBA and data inconsistencies irritate me).

Doesn't work for me either. For some reason can't attach to first post.

Posted another link https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 3#p5136823, post #13.
