Linux issue?

I last played last week, July 3rd. Everything appears fine. Apparently there was an update on July 7th. I went to play now. After spawning into the Control Room, the game is extremely laggy, My mouse takes time to become visible, and the screen jumps very slowly, updating after 5 seconds or so. I cannot play like this. It appears to be a graphics issue. It is very difficult to even exit at that point.
