How to actually open the Japanease Shipbuilding Menu?

Post by kaybayray »

Greetings <S> All

My questions is actually quite simple, how do I actually open the Ship Building Menu in game for the Japanese? I have been pouring over manuals, watching video tutorials on Japanese production and I am not getting to this menu? The menu that shows the actual queue of ships so I can decide what to do.

Following the Manual when I click on a Naval Shipyard the only option I get is changing the shipyard to a Merchant shipyard. So I am obviously missing something. This is what I get when clicking on a Naval Shipyard in the "Production Manager" and when I click on a Naval Shipyard icon at a base.

For other items like aircraft or engines I see a menu that will allow me to change what aircraft is being made or researched or the quantity to be produced by clicking on the Aircraft Factory icon at a base or engine factory at a base. However I get nothing but the change the shipyard type when clicking a shipyard icon.

I would really appreciate a kind soul explaining to me what I am doing wrong and showing me how to actually open this menu in game.

Thank you for any responses

It's not so much a shipbuilding menu as it Is a build-alter menu. As a Japanese player if you click on Ship Availability in the Intelligence menu (hotkey I) you will you see along with the list of scheduled reinforcement ships that you also have the option to accelerate or halt the building of vessels on the list. Changing the build rate is what it is called. But, of course you can't build anything but what is already scheduled. The shipyards buttons under the map are only for expanding or converting shipyards.

To clarify that last part - clicking on the base SY icon under the map will only allow you to increase size by double (to a max of 100 at a time) the present size (whether repaired or not) and of course you need all the supply, manpower and HI points required to do that. But if, for example, you wanted to change a size 10 SY to size 15, you have to go to the industry button at the top of the game screen, choose the base and then click on the Shipyard type you want to change. You can then click the right amount using the increase buttons on the right side of the industry screen. Of course the elements needed to pay for the increase need to be available to make it happen.
