Great guide Rosary. Informative and timely.

That zip file for the guide to the map editor doesn't seem to be working. It won't unzip, says it's damaged.
We sometimes catch a window
A glimpse of what's beyond
Was it just imagination
Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

On the subject of campaigns, can they be made with just the map editor, or does it require something else? If so, is it something I could get access to? I'd be interested in trying my hand at some campaign creation.

WinZip tells me it's empty, is this something associated with the attachments problem?

Most likely yes.

Michael, you only need the map editor. The public version of the map editor however doesn't support events and alternate victory conditions among other things, so straight forward missions and MP maps are its best use.

Is there any chance the full version of the map editor is going to be available? The events and alternate victory conditions are some of the most interesting parts of the campaigns.

Is there a possibility for the true map editor to be released? I think that user created campaigns would blow the whole "open ended system" lid wide open.

There are good reasons the full version hasn't been released.

Why would you hold it back? Are there built in super functions?

Most importantly, is there a possibility that you can scale down the full one (or make the current one stronger) to allow for scripted events and custom campaigns?

I don't think I'm allowed to answer the first question. So I'll play it safe and not answer it.

A future release is not up to me so I guess other's will have to answer this.

1. question: main reasons are regarding user-friendlyness and possibility of disturbing the game-balance/cheating.
2. question: yes.
3. question: no. The full one will not be scaled down, but improved. Events, victory conditions, rewards etc. are already part of the full map editor, called "mission editor".

For these type of questions, if you want more details, (but only if you want to make some good missions), just contact me (the programmer of the map-editor) in private. You can send me an email to the address that is given in the "help->aboutTosMapeditor" box of your map editor.
