Impressions on the New Build?

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Impressions on the New Build?

Post by anthonykevinluke »

Hi,

I was wondering what the consensus/thoughts are on the current build/patch. I'm particularly interested in those playing as Axis against the AI. As usual my thanks to those who work so hard to keep the game going.

Night Fighting - Still a bit too deadly in regards Allied losses. For example last three allied raids on Essen, Frankfurt and Dortmund cost Bomber Command 68, 43 and 88 bombers respectively (dates were the 21, 22 and 24 Aug 43).

Day Combat - Finding that axis interceptors tend to be unable to contact allied Fb and ftrs and engage them. They also RTB almost immediately after a single engagement in 3 out of four combats. Lastly I find that even if you are right on top of them they will usually outrun your interceptors, despite your interceptors having a significant speed advantage.

Still finding that pursuing interceptors are all chasing single damaged acft rather than the main body regardless of your intercept directions.

keen to hear what others are finding, Running an identical (time wise) allied campaign with the same, inverse, results. Always happy to discuss; and again thanks to Simovitch and the rest of the team for their excellent efforts.

Cheers, AKL
