WIR on Win XP?

Post by vonGarvin »

I have the latest version on my Win XP. When I play it (loads fine, no probs, etc), the characters (the numerals, specifically) are "jibberish". Any helps?
Thanks in Advance! :)

This is a problem usually with lack of ega font compatibility in the bios of your (probably) new computer, and is especially common on laptops, especially Compaq brand. You can try DOSBOX, a free dos emulator currently at version .58 and as such has bugs but does work for me, and allow W.I.R. to run within a window in winxp. It includes limited ega video and ega font support. Download current version from:

http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/download.php?main=1

Well, gee, Mr. Garvin, I guess you never checked this msg before you took the other game to see you had a game right here! Yer lucky my parents retired in Miramichi, so I'll go easy on ya! Kee-ripes, I wanna play someone who's gonna make me wish I never picked up the game! I'm 2-0 and I need my soul crushed so I know in advance I'm gonna burn in the fiery depths of hell! I learn the best when I'm embarassed with no mercy, then disembowled and quartered while I'm alive just so I know the ultimate meaning of shame!

Wow, hows that for begging for it?
