The MC did seem to start an exodus...but that is very understandable. Perhaps things will pick back up to normal levels once everything is finished. ;)

Speaking for myself, I've been gone due to having thrown my back out again. (Take it from me, don't run across the street without looking both ways.)

Part of the reason for me is the forums. It is just a pain viewing them on this tiny section left to us. They also seem to take forever to load a page, and I have cable. Too much time to invest. I check them every couple days now.

I dated both of 'em last week... It's you. :D

Okay, now that my chances of becoming governor of California seem to be dashed, it's time to get back to the forums, such as they are...

Goblin, you think they're slow on your system? I have dial-up... I've actually brewed a pot of coffee and drank a cup, waiting for the forums to load one morning.

Goblin, if you log on and then go make yourself breakfast/lunch/dinner then come back...the forum will be loaded and you'll be well fed and ready to surf for hours on end. Remember to look at the positive side of the issue! :D:p;)

To be fair the Forum is working "better" than it was. It still isn't nearly as fast as it was though.

They have some nice new features, I'll grant that, but I wouldn't go so far as to say they are working better.

The quick reply function is nice, but until the "new" version of the forums we didn't need it. It's only a plus because regular replies were taking so long to load.

The loss of address bar updating (due to the forums now being in frames) means my "back" function takes me to the first screen I logged in to, not the last I was viewing, which is a royal pain in the browser.

They also need better implementation of the AIM, YM, MSN, ICQ, etc link functions. Most of them are not working correctly.

And what the heck is the "reputation" function good for?

Bernie:

I should have been clearer with that comment about the Forum being "better." What I meant was, it isn't as bad as it was a few days ago, but it is still alooooong way from being the same great, speedy, fun Forum it was before all the "upgrades." I guess my comment was along the lines of, "Hmmmm, this turd doesn't smell nearly as bad as it did last week." :D

As for the reputation feature, go check in your user cp at the bottom of the screen. From there you can see your point count for reputation. You should see the most recent one where someone liked what you had to say. I'll give you a point for your last post so you can see it in action.

There, I added to your Reputation. It looks like there is also the option to reduce someone's reputation because a box pops up and asks you to check a box for whether you agree or disagree with the poster and it has a place for you to comment. I have no idea who sees those comments. I stated that you had an inciteful analysis of the present state of the Forum, given the new "upgrades." ;)

Oh, you have a reputation alright! Are you sure you want to know what it is? :D

Seriously, just hover your mouse over the green dot next to your post count and you will see that "M4 Jess is on a distinguished road." I haven't seen anyone on a "notorious" or "ignoble" road yet.
