The Circus union's contract negotiations did not go well. The clowns' little cars, big noses, and painted smiles were quickly replaced by things much more sinister... Gone were their days of spreading cheer and joy at the big top.

According to press reports, the strike by the cast of "Cabaret" didn't really turn ugly until they raided the dressing rooms of the cast from "Miss Siagon" which was playing next door.
