AI "stuck"

Post by jzpops »

While playing a Solitary game I had just saved, one of the AI titans decided to have a coniption fit: namely, it keeps switching from "Attack" to "Move" mode, over and over and over, ad infinitum.

I can't get the AI to "let go"; and as I just saved the game, I can't change other titan options early enough to cause the situation to alter for the AI titan to avoid this particular hangup. I haven't created a backup team file; and I don't have enough money to retrieve my team from HQ. In short, My team is stuck in an AI-created limbo, waiting for the little AI jerk to make a decision.

I tried to turn the AI off; but as it's a Solitary game, the comp won't let me.

This situation used to happen in v1.4; but this is the first time I've seen it in TOS:WS.

Please help!

Send your squad file and the savegame to henriksATmatrixgamesDOTcom

I will reset your squad and send it back and use the savegame to find the problem.

Please do ASAP !

Sorry for the belated response, Larkin. I got out of the game... namely, I had an earlier game saved from the previous battle. So, I didn't lose much except the battle I was fighting.

In future, I'll just have to take the precaution to save the game every 50-100 seconds or so (game time, that is) in order to have plenty of time to alter the course of events; or maybe play "hotseat" rather than "solitary" games, so I can switch the AI status, so I can make up the AI's mind for it.

Thank you for your kind offer, though!

TOS:WS is still my favorite!

PS. I accidentally erased the "stuck" battle, and the comp automatically overwrote the Autosaved game as well. If a "stuck" AI occurs again, I'll be happy to report it, if you like.

Thanks again!

I just had the same problem show up ... is it going to be fixed in the patch? I'll just backup my autosave in the meantime, then break move on the suspected problem.

It can't be fixed as long as I don't get a savegame to reproduce and debug the code. I don't have one yet. It must be some rare combination. Please send a savegame to henriksATmatrixgamesDOTcom.

Dear LarkinVB,

I am having the same problem as above.  An opponent named Consuela was sitting crouched waiting on me apparently and as soon as I move it loops as described above.  Any suggestions?
