Special Squads

Got this game a while back, and after playing a few hotseat battles with randomly generated teams to get the hang of things, I'm working on creating my own squads and titans now.

Just curious about the "Special Squad" trick... Are special squads better than the normal squads? Like some kind of elite special forces unit or something? Can they gain better skills than normal jocks or do they have any special tricks they can use?

Special squads allow you to create a group that doesn't gain experience in the normal way; instead you choose how many starting points for each jock are allotted, as well as how much money that team has. That way, you can make someone who has 80s in everything, or 100s, or whatever, for the purpose of testing new designs, experimenting with tactics, or just getting to know the game with a jock who'll hit more often than not. They're called special because their stats never change and they can pilot any weight class of titan.

They're very good if you want to play agianst someone and have 'even' teams. Just agree beforehand how much money and skill your teams will have and with the same starting 'resources' you can design your team the way you want and not have to rely on random generation.
