Training pilots

What is the best to train these poor Japanese pilots with 10 and 20's ratings without getting them killed.

Set them on "training" with the training level set to 0%. That will make them do ground school training before putting them in an actual plane. I don't know what the mazx skill level you cna raise a pilot to this way. I believe the max level you can raise a pilot to with training set to any other percent is 59. Maybe its the same.

Training carrier pilots

Post by CMDRMCTOAST »

I just started a new game and figured while I was waiting for my other carriers to
join the lexington and hornet I would send my two carriers out on some night
training, and in the space of a couple days my pilots lost an average of 3 to 4
experience points, and the lexington lost 1 day exp point and gained 1 night point.
would this be due to pilots getting killed hitting the ships or flying into the abiss? [:(]
Judging bye this outcome in such a short time span I am assuming it is not worth
trying to produce a night fighting capability.

not without nightfighter planes (which you get later). Your traditional fighters were not well equiped for night fighting, especially off carriers.

So slamming my sbd's and tbf's into the sides of my carriers isn't conducive
to a solid strategic plan...[:-]

Yup.

Beyond that need actual experience. Not too hard for bombers and fighter-bombers (bomb stuff and naval search with bombers where the enemy is active are good ways to build experience), but fighters are more problematic.

Actually I was refering to the game with the gentlemen who started this thread Zeta16,
as with the game I have with Knaust I have prepared my carrier force to sink as usual
when they run into the IJN and slowly sap thier ability to fight when they get bored
of not having any carriers to play with.....
