I'm a bit confused about status of H2H in 8.0

Ok guys I loved the H2H version of 7.1 and I was woundering if there is going to be an H2H for 8.0 OR do you just put the H2H mood ontop of 8.0 (or 8.1) to get 8.0 H2H? and what was up with the "Norway OOB" patch for 8.1?

Right now I play 8.0 with the True Update patch on it (8.1?!?!?).

Can sombody in the know straighten me out on the H2H version of 8.0[&:]

There is an 8.x patch in the works according to the last I heard from Pz Leo. Don't know exactly when. You can import h2h into 8.x, but there are a couple of files you need to rename in order to get it to work. I'll look for a link and edit in when I find it.

About a month ago, Panzer Leo said he would have an update of H2Hfr coming for v8 in about a week. Who knows when it will be ready.

In the meantime, an install of H2Hfr over v8 works just fine, and I've already designed some scenarios with it. There is, however, one thing beyond the normal H2Hfr installation that you must do:

If you already have v7.1 on your machine, copy the vid998.smk file from the SND/Stream folder to the same folder in v8.

OR, In the v8 Steel Panthers World At War folder is a file called "SPWAW.avi" which you can copy to your SND/Stream folder and then rename vid998.smk.

Make sure you have updated v8 to v8.1 before you install H2Hfr. Once the vid998.smk is in place everything should work fine.

As mentioned above, there will be an "Official" v8+ H2Hfr patch from Panzer Leo coming sometime, but for now an installation of the "old" H2Hfr over v8+ works just fine. The "Norway patch for H2Hfr v8+" is simply the Norway December 1949 OOB with some things added that are included in v8+ but which get written over when installing H2Hfr over same. They are designer tools, like the explosions, etc. If you decide to use it, you will need to make sure your PBEM partners also have it or a security flag will appear.
