text problems with game

Post by ebonyknight »

The game appears to work fine, except for one problem. Everyplace there is a space in text, there is garbage there. What is the fix for this if any?

Download DosBox 'Frontend' from the same site, when this is installed it provides a windows friendly screen to run dosbox. The 'frontend' program has an icon that looks like Manhatten and your can place this on your desktop. You don't need an icon for the WIR.exe as you start dosbox with the dosbox icon and then through dosbox frontend screen you start WIR. I am using Dosbox 0.60 with 'frontend' in Windows XP, the 'Readme' assumes you know something about dosbox and there is some 'trial and error' in setting it up. One problem is that once you have set up a program you cannot change it. If you want to re-install it in dobox you seem to need to change the names of the directory file and the EXE file so that it looks like a new program. But this may be because I don't fully understand how it works. I think is is because dosbox mounts your chosen program in a virtual drive and any changes you make on your actual game installation are not reflected in dosbox, unless you input the game again under a different name.
