New Purchase Options for the Mega Campaigns

Post by KG Erwin »

I'm pleased to announce that soon, players will have the option to purchase the Mega Campaigns for SPWaW in three package variations. A single MC is still 24.99. A single MC with the complete 8.1 version of SPWaW will be 29.99. There is also the new SPWaW Generals' Edition: with this, you get all four Mega Campaigns plus the complete version of SPWaW 8.1 for 79.99. This is equivalent to buy three MCs, get one free! Check the Matrix E-Store for more details within the next day or so.

Hi Alby

The OOB are so small that downloading them will be hardly a second. Also we were supposed to have this done in February and now its March and I really do not want the gamers who are waiting to really wait much longer.

This is a great way for those who can afford it, to get them all at once. [8D]

I only need MCSE and plan to get it soon, but I urge those who have been thinking about getting into the MC's, buy this! It's the best way to show your support for Matrix and for the developers of the MC's and all their hard work!

Does this mean that MC's NA and LV are now totally compatible with v8?? Reason I'm asking is that I already have all the MC's and attempted playing NA in v8 and I noticed a few minor issues. Nothing that makes it unplayable mind you, just a few nagging things. Where there any modifications done to them?? If so, can those of us who already have the MC's get those modifications in the form of a patch?? Right now I have 3 separate installs of SPWAW to be able to play whatever version a scenario is made for. Like I have that kind of time!! [:)]
Thanks!

I hope to work on those nagging problems, my friend. It probably won't be done until after you are done. There are a LOT of scenarios in MC-NA, over 140 if I remember correctly. Reviewing each one of them in detail is more than time consuming, as you can imagine.

As you say, they are still playable.

[:)] Glad to see a CD purchase option is in the works! I have a dialup connection still, it would take most of a day to download 8.1!

This is good news. Part of the reason I have been holding off purchasing any of the megacampaigns is because I had heard that a combined option was in the works. The other part of the reason I've been holding off is that I've been too stinkin' busy to play them. I'm not quite as busy now and suddenly the General's Edition is coming available. Nice how that works out sometimes.

I just went to the E-store. I could find all the MC's seperately easy enough, but I don't see this general's edition. Is it still for sale?
A sniper assaults a Sherman tank (going in excess of 15 mph) for 20%. M4 Sherman tank is destroyed.
Is this like when a deer runs out in front of a car? Does the Sherman make some violent turn to avoid the lunatic, only to roll over or hit a tree?

Minefield, I believe that the new packages will be available once the latest 8.2 patch is completed. At this point, it could be another week or so.

Man I am glad the cat is finally out of the bag hehe.

Ok I suppose some already "knew" about it or had cause to suspect, but I have been supressing outright talking about the fact the 4 Megas can indeed sit on a cd with the core game.

Now I am very happy it is being brought out as a common comment.

As I have the version that David gave the MC-SE team as a gift, I can comment, it is a flawless install (in my experience at least).
For those that like Steel Panthers, but have not had the chance to get the Megas, this is clearly your "golden opportunity".

I am sure Matrix Games will shortly have the process ironed out for easy purchasing of this Ultimate Wargame purchase.

And yes, you can blather to the hand if you don't agree, Les the Sarge says getting all 4 Megas ands the core Steel Panthers game, will easily outdo any other wargame purchase you have EVER made.

I will heartily second Les the Sarge's comments.

Having been the recipient of one of these MCSE team "Generals' Edition" CDs, I can attest to the fact that at $80 (plus the fee for CD on demand), this is indeed the "ultimate" SPWaW collection. If you've never purchased a Mega Campaign, this is the best bang for the buck you can get: all FOUR Mega Campaigns with their voluminous historical articles AND the latest complete version of SPWaW, with its hundreds of scenarios and several mini-campaigns.

You will never need another wargame, unless of course it's another one of Matrix' fine products! [:D]

No statement could be more true!

Add to this, that SPWAW is arguably the greatest game the genre has ever produced, the fun factor, the love for the game that inspires both creators and players... well, I think you see where I'm going with this.

Oh, and in case I haven't mentioned this lately, or your not sure by my tone.....God, I love this game.[&o]

[8D]This is a testament to how great this game is. We've been playing this game now in one form or another for about 7 years, and we are still jazzed by it! I don't play anything but SP, but do many other games have this following? This game should be considered as a classic!

Without a doubt. This game is a one of a kind that will probably never be duplicated no matter how we try. The versatility of it is amazing!
