WiR T.O.E.??

Post by Orion292 »

I'm looking for a list that explains the maximum size for every Division/Battalion in the WiR 3.3. The manual talks about a maximum size for each unit but then provides no chart or information on the "actual" sizes. I've had a division (707th Inf.) sitting in a HQ (replace level 100) for 4 turns now and he still hasn't gone past 222 Squads; 22 Artillery. It's a German division so I know that can't be the right size. I just want to know if the division's I'm trying to build are at there peak so I can send them off to the front!
Oh, and by the way, does anyone else find the .PDF manual rather uninformative.
Any help/reply is appreciated.

First: You have to have squads, artillery, at- and aa-guns available in order to get them to your divisions. German panzer divisions get the best soldiers and are kept full, if possible, so don't expect your infantry to reach the maxium strength unless you're doing really really well. (or denying replacements for every other division).

German divisions start at 243 (or was it 240) squads and some 90 artillery and antitank to a total strength of 333 (or 330, can't remember). They rarely go beyond that. So if you have 222 squads and 22 artillery in late war you're having a "full" division, field it! Theoratical maxium is some 400 for russians, so it could be for germans too. Nevertheless I've never seen a german infantry division at that strength.

So a official strength division is around 330 combinated and a good (=full) division is some 250 combinated.
Ei kannattais.

when i was testing my mod i'd select 2 players and run it manually until june '42 to make sure upgrades were correct and even after a full year at 100% replacements the german squad pool was still empty! goes to show any level of casualties playing germany HURTS, so realistically there's no such thing as a full german inf unit!!
