Danube is Excellent

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

Danube is Excellent

Danube is just what a wargame should be. I have been playing French on "Enemy" FOW. The game plays exactly as my reading in Napoleonic history suggests it should. Your options as supreme commander are flexible but you are never sure where the enemy is or how he will react. Your lieutenants may or may not timely obey your commands or may do something completely different. Just try to get three separate columns to converge on the same city at the same time without any of them getting defeated in detail.

The supply game imposes severe and realistic contraints.

I have been wargaming since the 60's and find (contrary to some posts) that the AI is extremely challanging, at least at the "Enemy" FOW level.

Bravo Frank.

Johnnie - if you don't mind me asking, what system and resolution are you running and what version of DX?

Are you also running Version 2 of the game?

Looking very much to getting mine working so appreciate your post.

Adam.
