The Sun, the heat, the cold, the War!
We are entering the final phases of getting Mega Campaign North Africa in motion.
You guys are going to war...I mean really to war.
Now you are going to disembark with Rommel in Tripoli as Colonel Hans Dietsl, colonel commanding your own small Kampfgruppe.
You see the gleam in your commander's eye. You know his orders are to just bolster sagging Italian morale and "hold your ground"
But General Rommel knows nothing about "holding ground." He is out to take ground, lots of it, hundreds of miles of it.
In front of him lies the desert, that mystical intemperent area of the world where every extreme is found. It never rains, and when it does, everything is flooded.
Its hot...then it's cold. Sand is everywhere: in your boots, in your engine intakes, in your mouth. Flies the size of small birds lazily circle your head looking for a place to land.
The smells are like none you have ever known.
Rocks, gullies, endless waste with no landmarks, eteep escarpments that defy the heartiest climber. Water is a luxury, a bath is unheard of.
And always the sound of guns. Always marching to the sound of the guns.
And death - the enemy, your men, your friends. They die around you every day.
Then there is your commander, a man loved by his men, but a harsh unforgiving commander. He tolerates no failure. Mess up and you answer to a steely blue-eyed stare that penetrates to ths soul!
This is the desert. This is the battleground.
Now it is your battleground.

I absolutly cannot wait for this one! The possibility of 100 battles in one campaign is unreal! I will order a few copies so that I can help you reach that 5000 mark and continue to make additions down the road. Once again thank you to all at Matrix and all those who were involved in this.

Doggone it, your enthusiasm is so infectious, fellas, that I want to order it too...but I have it already, or parts of it
We are really putting effort into getting this ready as soon as we can.
A lot of fine-tuning is ahead of us as well as testing it through.
You probably won't fight all 100 battles, but you could.
The options are endless and it does have definite replay value (once the shock of your first fight through it wears off).
Actually you'll fight about 40 battles to reach the end of 41. But you can change those with variants and other missions that allow for more than one use of it.
For those curious about the history of the time, dozens of short to the point articles and some great pictures will help you get the feel of where you are!
You'll not forget this experience, it is unique.

Sounds great! I've got my plastic warmed up, locked and loaded!
Question: With the pre-assigned battle groups for your core, what are the upgrade options? In other words, will upgrades be available as in a regular WAW campaign, or will you be left with the basic compostion of the core as assigned in the mega campaign?
Also, what will be the real-life approximation in time between battles? One battle a week, one a day, etc?
I'm really looking forward to this mega campaign mode, as for me the campaign is what counts the most. The personal attachment to commanders and the development of their careers. I recall the heartbreak at having an elite panzer commander start in Poland 39 and losing him in April 45
I find that I tend sometimes to treat scenario crews as cannon-fodder, after all I'll never see him again.

Sounds like the time I read in a book about Rommel flying over one of his units in his Fielser Storch. They had stopped for a rest. He throws a message out the window which read something like this,"Are you going to get moving or do I have to come down there? R." Maybe I should move my computer away from my window.Originally posted by Randy:
Wild Bill, with that vivid description I was almost waiting for Rommel to walk into the room and start yelling at me to get my troops
moving!! Sounds awesome! Thanks

Italian Soldier,German Discipline!
A lot of Italians in this one, Ruxius. And I think you will be proud of them.
They generally fight well, especially considering the quality of what they had to fight with.
I think you all will enjoy this very much. I can't wait to play it through myself! We're getting there!
