A Little unusual....

Post by scorryuk »

Check this out. Few strange things been happening lately as i have played thru scen16. Little things like aircraft noises instead of torp. sound during sub attack. Then later the sounds were accompanied with the report that a IJN pilot had bailed out and was rescued during my sub attack on a MSW. (Little lost & little jumpy I guess!). And finally to cap it all this morning my turn ended with me in command of all IJN forces. Which would be fine except I started the turn on US side. Have to admit it was interesting to be able to see what damge I had inflicted on IJN and what they had where! (couldn`t resist!). Will go back to previous save though as too much time invested in campaign to restart now. Only thing I can think off that might have contributed to this was that in last couple of days I have started using ESC key to speed up the computers turn whereby every single ship in pacific (down to last rowing boat!) is spotted one by one. Those IJN planes must have one hell of a range because I finally retook Gili pushing AI back to Lae and still spots every move I make!

One other way to speed them up w/o using the escape key, is press "Z" when the sighting reports start. It will fly through them, and has never caused me any issues.

Hey thanks for the Z key tip. I would much rather do that than the esc key. [:)]

maybe you had pbem switched on. If you start a campaign against the ai and do a later turn with the pbem switch up, you land in the middle of truk, súddenly wearing another uniform.

I haven't sped anything up with a keystroke, but I have seen this reporting of a pilot loss during a sub combat report.

F1 also speeds through the sightings etc. You have to press it after every battle sequence though, and possibly every phase of the day IIRC.

I've seen pilot losses during sub attacks too. I've decided it was just an operational loss that wouldn't have been reported otherwise.

I believe that these reports of planes going down during a sub attack, etc. are planes damaged in a previous engagement that have gone down on the trip back.
