First the game "Steel Panthers World At War" is the best game i ever played - all what i wanted from strategic game.

I have list of more then 1000 last weapons with all the details.

I want to make this game more present then past.

What you think ???

Welcome to Steel Panthers

I think if you are looking for modern, you will wish to look at the game under developement called Combat Leader. It will be the evolution of Steel Panthers.

Steel Panthers is a great game, but it is also an older game that is also not owned by Matrix. Matrix has been allowed to offer it as a free game. They have greatly modified it, but it is all that it can be now.

If you dont mind older, you might want to look around for a copy of Steel Panthers 3. This is not an extension of Steel Panthers World at War though. It is alas an older dos era based game and has not been known to be entirely cooperative with modern computers and OS systems. But Steel Panthers 3 gives you all the modern you might be looking for.

Although you will be greatly more pleased with CL Combat Leader when it is released. It will be all that Steel Panthers WaW is now, and will be everythig that Steel Panthers WaW cant be (do to limitations on what is an older design after all). CL will be what all of us are looking for if we love Steel Panthers.

And no, I am not in any way an expert, just a fan that has read the right posts, and hopes you will be around for the release of CL.

I run quite a few dos programs on my win 98 system and starting to get the hang on how to get them to work. If u get a copy of spIII which has indeed some great modern coverage and have dos problems feel free to ask questions and or mail me.

p.s. i run master of orion, 5th fleet ets, all late 80s or begin 90s game and i think i finnaly have the right config and autoexecs for it.

Ehh.. SP3 was all cool and fantastic back when it was like "whoah, man! They've got like, all the weapons, and tanks, and nationalities, and stuff, man! All in one game! How cool!". But since then I've come to realize what I steaming pile of bull this game was when it came to tactical realism and any more than skin-deep historicality. SP3 is a load, stick with SPWAW, I don't care how much you love your nice modern weapons SP3 is a hopeless anachronism. Take it from a former SP3 fanatic.
