Conquest of the Agean?

Post by NotFast »

<My first post>

Cool!

http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/11 ... 00457.html

I have always wanted to play the 1941 battles on Crete. Many years ago I bought the old Avalon Hill game Air Assault on Crete (anyone else own or remember that board game), but didn't have anyone to play against. Thank goodness Panther is going to help me out [:)]

1. Will it still be a digital download?

2. Will it still cost around $20 or a full fledged $49?

I let one of the people of Panthergames answer this.

Since they are from down under, just look at the battle honors of those Australian units: Servia Pass, Mount Olympus, Olympus Pass, Platamon Tunnel, Aliakmon Bridge and Tempe Gorge, the final withdrawal to the evacuation beaches on the Peloponnese. Then Iraklion, Heraklion, Maleme, Rethymnon.

Those locations make a good chance to be included don't you thimk [;)]

1. Don't know

2. It will be a full fledged game. Remember the Crete expansion? COTA will future Crete, Greece, Malta and a campaign feature (and other features/improvements).

If it was just Crete I would expect a $20 expansion...but with all the other maps and battles it sound like this is going to be just as big of a game as HTTR.

It also sounds like im going to be kept poor longer than I thought [:(]

Yahooooo ! [&o]

I can't wait this one. It's larger than I would have thought since I was under the impression there was only the Crete campaign in there. But there is in fact Greece and a what-if about Malta.

Very interesting. But it seems we will have to wait to this fall to enjoy this one. Good excuse to continue to polish my commanding skills on HTTR and work on this scenario I want to finish [:D]

The old Avalon Hill game Air Assault on Crete also included a fictional airdrop on Malta campaign.... from what I remember, Malta was a attacker's nightmare. Very little ground for easy paradrop landings, and very heavily fortified?

Does anyone else remember that game? I can't be the only grognard here [:(]

1. No problem for it being digital download. Producing games is costly, we know. This is a good way to reduce costs.
2. Considering HttR is sold for $50, with box, CD and printed manual, isn't $60 (+ $10 for a CD) a bit too much to ask for a digital download only thingie ?

Cheers,

49.99 seems fair since this looks to be on par with HttR content wise.

Matrix is close enough to their fanbase to explain why there is a 10 dollar price increase.
I was told the reasoning behind WiTP being $70 and I am ok with it.
Once David explains I will then pass judgement.

No, sounds reasonable to me for three campaigns.

Hmm $60 bucks is expensive... how many scenarios etc compared to HTTR? I'm perrfectly willing to pay that amount if the content is there. A demo or public beta would be nice to assuage peoples' fears.
It is sincerity and faithfulness. It is self-sacrifice, duty, adherence to principle and unwavering loyalty to one's lord despite what the lord stands for, good or evil. It is an acceptance of one's place and status.

Well, I say that I will buy it anyway. I'm sure lot will be put into the making of the game. And just for the promised features I would buy it.

But 60$ it's expensive anyway.
