Backup vs. Re-install

Post by Deathtreader »

Hi all,

I'll be upgrading soon............. in large part due to WITP. One of the things I'll be getting is a new, larger, and faster harddrive. For UV, do you think it is better to re-install & re-patch or just backup along with everything else & transfer to the new drive -- or is it six of one and half a dozen of the other?? Any advice would be appreciated.

When i was doing this I was advised to do a complete re-install and the back up / burning an image thing could cause problems and instability. Basically is was supposedly not the most reliable means of setting up new hard drive. Anyway a fresh start with fresh install of everything will mean your computer will run better leaving behind all the little gremlins and registry problems.

Hi,

Makes sense, so that's what I'll do.
Thanks!
