Battles In Normandy is the third game in the Decisive Battles game series. Battles in Normandy recreates all aspects of the Normandy campaign, from the landings on the first day to the final climax of the campaign at Falaise. Strategic Studies Group rewrote the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Normandy with a host of new special rules for amphibious and airborne operations, plus a huge number of other enhancements.

ASAP.. after gold retail I will do a what if scenario based on Rommel not visiting his wife on her birthday and taking the armor reserves in hand.. quicker response. etc.. the allies will, as a response, get to use the heavy bombers to carpetbomb as a last ditch effort to save the invasion... followed by Pattons quick entry to releive the brits.. in Caen....anyone interested in this? Or have idea for other scens.. the editor is to be much more user friendly.. so we will see.. thanks for your input

I guess this game isn't going to be like D-Day the board wargame where we got choices of alternate entry points eh? Or a second entry point at a later time during the campaign?
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

Well, supposedly there exists the ability to have sea movement.. and I guess you could expand the sea lanes to let the allies land wherever.. also true of the paras... So looking at the map.. where do you land and with what?

The initial landings are restricted to their historical beaches, but those that follow latter can be directed to any of the beaches.
Isn't that bizarre?

freeboy,

Editor will allow you to make new BiN scenarios to your heart's content. You can easily alter one of the shipped scenarios to play exactly as you'd like to see it played.

The key piece to this is that anyone you PBEM with has to have the exact same scenario. If you alter one of the shipped scenarios it must played as the new scenario it is (give it a different name and folder location).

Sealanes, beaches and anything else are edited in the editor. There were very good historical reasons why the Allies landed where they did, but you can hurl them ashore wherever you like. You can also alter the airborne drop zones with a few entries in the editor, so there's plenty of scope for alternatives.

I think the intent from ravinhood was the variability ?.. but yes.. with the editor you can change these and yes in a blind game.. someone could be surprised on either side..
thanks for the responses Gregor.. looks great btw
