Do you want to play the full historical scenario? I ask because I played a full 10-day scenario last year and it took over six months to complete! Admittedly this was partly down to computers breaking down, Sasser worms etc. etc. I don't want to put you off because for all of that it was an enjoyable experience but it does take a long time to play out in full.

When I play solo I normally play at speed 2 much like yourself. However, in h2h I prefer to play at the slowest speed since this avoids the need to pause (well, mostly[:D]) and allows for more 'chat' with my opponent. One of the things I like about playing HTTR online is the social side which I find enhances the overall gaming experience. Other players may disagree of course[8D]

Incidentally, before I went 'broadband' I found that the slow speed was the only viable option when using a dial-up connection.

I'd offer you a game but since you're in Denver and I'm in the UK I'm not sure how we'd be able to hook up. With Yakstock he's in Philadelphia so the time-difference meant we were playing from midnight (my time, 7.00 pm his time). If we could sort that out it might be possible[:)]

Playing AI I go with second speed setting , H2H I kind of lean on the side of the first speed setting.

Interested but need a few more hours under my belt. I'm in the UK.

How does HTTR play online and how does one connect up. Sorry for the dumb question.

All the best Steve H

I was just as dumb when I first played it online so there's no need for apogies[:)]. In the game menu screen (after all the credits/movies etc.) you have options of New, Load, Host or Join. If you're 'hosting' you send you're IP address (which comes up after you've clicked on 'Host') to your opponent. If 'joining' you wait until you receive the IP and then type the address in and away you go! Even though I was playing against someone in Philadelphia and using 'dial-up' rather than the broadband connection I've got now I found the game ran very smoothly. I'd recommend signing up with one of the 'chat' services (if you're not already[:)]) so you can see when your prospective opponent is online and ready to play. I use Yahoo incidentally.

Since I'm in the UK as well, when you're ready for some online play just look me up.
