New Desktop Wallpaper!

Post by John DiCamillo »

To celebrate going gold, I have posted some new desktop wallpaper on the starshatter.com website. The new image is a variation of the rendering used on the Starshatter DVD case.

Here's a thumbnail:

Me. It's not high-poly, those are the actual models from the game. I modified Magic so that it could export models in VirtuaLight format, and then did a high resolution raytrace using that system.

Starshatter DVD case.

DVD? For game that at last count didnt near 500mb? Is there that much content you hid from us, or do we get a 'making of' documentary or something? :D

[edit] I correct myself, according to the control panel, teh 3.9.0 demo uses a whopping 68MB of harddrive space

Right, but my question is: CD or DVD?

CD-ROM in a DVD-style case. The final version should be just under 200 MB, including music and the stuff in the Mod SDK.

DamoclesX - don't get excited, there's nothing in it that you don't already know or have.

Pheagey - yes, that's the version of Magic that is included on the game CD.

Milo, that export is a really cool idea:) I might just have to whip up a few high poly versions of some of your ships, shut up the "its to low poly people" eh eheheheheh.

no new stuff eh, I guess that means your going to have to endure weeks of

how do you make dynamic campaigns
how do you make dynamic campaigns
how do you make dynamic campaigns
how do you make dynamic campaigns
how do you make dynamic campaigns
how do you make dynamic campaigns

lol, acutally, i'm to busy getting other stuff ready then to bother right now with that aspect lol

I can see we need outside help to solve this issue. Perhaps we can covertly turn milo's kids to our cause. I remember when I was a kid the tactic of jumping up and down on furniture and repeating the same question every 2.5 seconds usually produced positive results. Now we just need to resolve basic hurdles of any covert operation; recruitment, training, planning and execution. If we're lucky, we may be able to advance on the planetary surface SDK issue at the same time, although initial studies indicate this has a high probability of resulting in the capture and spanking of our agents.

In our house, annoying mom or dad is a real good way to move down the privilege ladder. Consider that a warning. ;)

Anyway, the answer is simple: Put together a credible proposal for your project - outline what you want to do and who you have on your team to do it - and send it to me via email. I'll take it from there.
