Artillery Corps

Post by fjbn »

I would like to know which powers will have artillery corps. Art Corps are, between the +2 Guard, the reasons why only Russia and France can win the game as "continental powers". Of course, it represents the fact that they have more guns that any others, but I think that the difference was smaller and, in French case, the differencie was a much better fire direction. You must remember that Napoleon was an artillery officer. Maybe a French Art Corps of 14 factors, a Russian of 12 and an Art Corps of 10 for the rest of the powers would be better. This will increase the power of French Arty, probably killing 3 every turn, but if you are lucky, you will kill 2, so the difference will be reduced.[:D]

I might be wrong, but I think that the french artillery corps is actually the Corps d'Artillerie de la Garde.

As for the Russian and French being the only continental powers that can win, I have to disagree. I have once played a game as Prussia that I would have won if it would have finished, and I remember a game where Spain was in a very good position to win before the game ended for lack of time.
