Starshatter does not work

Hi there I just got home from Origins and attemtped to install the game. I am getting a decompression error and can not run the game... Need help please.

Here is the error mesg

A decompression error has been detected (#7)
File CRC Mismatch- Data Integrity Error

What stage of the install process does this happen for? A specific file?

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your copy. It may be that the CD has an issue. First, try cleaning it with some distilled water and a soft cloth to make sure it's clean. That does sound like its having problems reading the info from the cd

try to copy the cd to a directory on your hdd, then run it from there, maby something is up with your cd drive being flaky at times.

Doesn't mean problem isn't on disc. I have similar experience: installation of Total Annihilation: Battle Tactics was real pain when drive didn't read disc and during install there was error messages. Got it finally, after about 10th time and then I noticed TA is funky and I had to uninstall and install TA and expansion packs (icluding Battle Tactics).

I don't know what was the problem. It was unused and disc seemed intact (if I recall correctly).
