War of 1812?

Post by Capt Cliff »

Is the War of 1812 modelled into the game? It was part of the Napoleonic period. As the FRench can you keep Louisiana and sell it at a later date for more money?[:D]

Simplely is the United States in the game as a minor country?

There is an existing ruleset and maps for handling the new world, which would include the period of the war of 1812. I beleive the best maps are posted on the Empires in Harms yahoo group. There is also a version of the ruleset here:

It was abstractly modeled in the original game as a loss of income to GB if GB was denying trade to too may continental powers. It was based on the number of powers denied trade and a dice roll every economic phase.

Hello all:

United States is only in the game for trading purposes. GBR can control who (they are at war with) trades with the U.S. BUTas in EiA there is a chance each time that they will be considered to be at war with the U.S. This effects Gbr colonial trade for Gbr and the only way Gbr can make peace with the U.S. is to pay a 5 pp penalty which would then set Gbr and the U.S. back to normal.
Nothing new here. Handled as EiA.

1812 Scenario with U.S. is being looked at as a scenario. We have studied the new world maps and it wouldn't take much to add.

Thank you
Thank you

As long as it is a patch I'm happy... [:D]
Right now I just want to play the game...

You dont need to worry about an 1812 Scenario for war in the Americas. If you can just give us our game we can produce our own war of 1812 where it matters, in Europe![;)]

IMHO [&:] I am sure none of us would want you to be delayed by even a day working on non essential extras. Keep up the good work!
