White planets

Post by Comet »

Hi everyone [:)]

Not sure if this has already been addressed, just in case...

After few missions the planet texture disappears.
Planets becomes nude white spheres floating in space, and every time I face them, the framerate drops to zero.
But if I manage to rotate the ship and bring the planet out of my FOV the game returns as smooth as usual.

I'm using Win98se, with 512 MB RAM, Pentium III 1GHz, GeForce3 Ti 500 with Detonator drivers 40.72 and DirectX 8.1.
I usually play at 1024x768x32, but experienced this problem at 800x600x32 too.

Thanks for the attention.
Ciao [:)]

Hi Pheagey
My GeForce3 has 64 MB VRAM. Aren't they enough?

Yesterday i played few hours (Sorry, but I don't remember how long [;)]) in campain and i had that same problem, it was when you jumping to another starsystem escorting some ship with medical help or somethink like that. Moons where white, but planet still had texture.

My card is Nvidia Vanta TNT2 32 MB.

You can try reducing the maximum texture size in the options.

Good idea, I'll try that.
Thanks
