severe problems after launching mass numbers of fighters

Post by spacerat »

I launched pretty much my entire attack squadren after an enemy carrier (which I killed and got zero points for..go figure) but when they came back to land they mostly just kamakazied into me. I was sitting at zero thrust and not moving yet htey would just plow right into the side of my carrier over and over. I'd say about 1/3 of the attack force I sent ended up a wet spot on the side of my carrier somewhere. Is there some trick to allowing the Ai to land fighters successfully?

See if you can get it to happen again.

Only landing issue I've seen is that at 4x acceleration craft trying to dock in bay 4 crash into it more often then they dock...

They should fly around to the rear of your carrier and sit in a huge group waiting for their turn :)

Maybe there are other large ships nearby (i.e. a few k) messing up their avoidance routines?

it happens under nomral time too for me... they seem to mis aim for the landing bay and smack into the hull around it..even though my ship hasn't moved an iota. Though coming to a dead stop is nearly impossible I keep my movement as low as possible but I still lose a good 1/3 of every flight I send out. It's really spoiling carrier command for me :[

no. I have used 4x time in earlier parts of the mission but I turn it off when they land. They do gather around the butt of my carrier but then just fly in and smack into the side of the ship. Or the top. Or pretty much anywhere. Some of them seem to make a sucessful landing in the landing bay and then explode for no reason.

ive also have had the landing fighters problem. ive only tried it on the orion (i think, the alliance carrier) about 90% of the fighters land fine, and at the last moment, they blow up for no apparent reason
