Repairs during play?

Post by Mr.Frag »

Ok, so I'm looking pretty rough with a couple of frigates in badly needed repairs. Where does one go for repairs?

No hull repairs, sorry. Systems will be repaired automatically and munitions replenished on a a mission end however.

Well *you* try to patch up holes punched through the strongest material you have, with warped edges, in zero gravity, in pressure suits. At best you'll be able to use the carrier's pool room again, at worst you'll kill yourself trying. [;)]

Well, with all those planets, one would think there was a dock somewhere you could go to and stick the ship in for repairs. I don't mind being down a ship while it is being repaired, better then loosing it.

The campaigns occur over days and weeks, not years. There just isn't enough time to conduct any kind of meaningful repairs to armor and such. That's the theory [;)]

I agree that major drydock repairs are beyond the scope of a campaign. However, replacements/reinforcements could take place prior to transferring to a new system, which would be much more realistic than sending a capital ship with 97% hull damage into harms way.

I would love to see some sort of reinforcement for tactical wings and capital ships.

agreed. Same with continuing to field a force that has suffered over 75% losses. Acceptable military losses are 20% (nowdays) you think they'd reenforce them or somthing. Trade some "score" for a new ship or two to repalce KIAs.
