Fuel inland?
Been wondering about this - how do you get fuel to inland bases? Ive seen a few posts that say the oil/res gets fed through rail automaticly but they never said specificly how the fuel situation works.
ie Calcuta - diamond harbor and the other port near it have 290k+ of fuel but the bases one hex away inland have perpetual 0 fuel .. this is 2 months in and with the best airbase currently inland it never has any fuel. None of the inland bases around there ever have fuel. Problem?

RE: Fuel inland?
IIRC, don't aircraft use supplies and not fuel? At least it was that way in UV, I believe.

There is absolutely no need to have fuel at an inland base. Avaition "gas" is represented as supplies.

The only way you'll have fuel in an inland base is if its on its way to another port base on the other side. ONly ships use fuel, so bases without ports have no need for fuel.

NO problem. The overland movement of items (supplies, fuel, oil and resources) does a good job, although I am not sure why it moves oil and resources to bases that don't need it.. Doesn't make sense.

RE: Fuel inland?
Do You have to keep a base force or another unit with support or engineers in the base to keep the supplies (fuel) flowing further?

I don't think so.. But remember bases can change hands without any enemy units capturing it if it is empty and an enemy base is close enough.

Xargun,
How does that happen? Did I miss something in the 220 pages somewhere about that empty base can change hands without an attack? May have to change some of my movements if that is the case!

Any empty base that is near an enemy occupied base will eventually roll over. This was added to *make* you stick your neck out and keep the amount of dot sitting headaches to a minimum.

hmmm im confused. what do you mean by this? "added to make you stick your neck out I understand" but would this not give you more dot sitting headaches if you have to be at every base???

You are thinking in reverse. You have to have troops there to prevent the fall. [;)]

Just so I'm clear... if I have an empty base 'X', and it's close to an enemy occupied base 'Y', base 'X' will switch sides?

you have to have more troops at every dot? or more troops at each base?
are you saying that the dots roll over from the bases or the bases roll over from the dots???
what i hope your saying is that we dont really need to put as much effort into the little dots but need to focus more on the bases.

Yes
RE: Fuel inland?
Bases, dots or both change sides? Also, how close is close? Does the size of the occupied base increase its ability to "project power"?

Adjacent so I'd figure pretty short range ... like maybe 1 [;)]
