Winning as Japan

Post by Draghkar »

Hi,

I played the game many years ago and was very pleased when I found it in a new version. Now here is something that I want to discuss with you.

Is ist possible to whin the game as Japan in the big campaign ? If yes which strategies did you use ? Did you control alle combat zones on your own ? or did the computer handles same Areas ?

I am looking forward to this discussion.

If you look back far enough there are several threads discussing this. The overwhelming consensus is Japan has no chance to win an outright victory and that the fun of playing Japan is in trying to do better (i.e. surrender later than) your historical counterparts. The designers tried to build the game to be as historically accurate as they could rather than building in an arbitrary play balance.

Hope that helps.

alot is going to depend on how the play goes early on. If the Allied player jumps the gun too soon or is just plain aggressive and you can capitalize on it, you can build a substantial lead in points (from sunken ships in particular + destroyed men and equipment)

This might not guarantee an extension of the war but it would at least make for a good comparison and discussion between the players [;)]
