Some wc stuff

Post by DamoclesX »

thought the wc team might like this

check out all these ships!

I expect them all done! those models in there look okay, but they need more weathering and texture lighting to finish them off

and some cockpits! but they do look good

Oh yea. has anyone ported like WC1 & 2 to WinXP?

I only ever played the 2nd expansion to WC1 cuz my 66MHz 486 was too fast for the original and the first expansion, but WC2 was one ofmy favorite games of all time. One of the few games I've played through all the way.

You can easily play then in XP. You need to download a clock fix (speed hack, it computers logarithms to slow you cpu speed) then right click on the game shortcut and select properties, then click compatablility and select the operation system you want to emulate.

Alternative program is DOSBox. Emulates processors, sound cards and maybe some more. Haven't tried it yet.

Well, the primary issue for me is the lack of WC1 and 2 themselves.

Wing Commander Kilrathi Saga combines WC 1, 2, 3 all optimized for windows. I had no problems with running that on Win 98 on a 750 MHz machine

It was pain to find and get Homeworld earlier this year. I don't even want to know how I would get those or First Encounters or Rules of Engagement or X-Wing Alliance or ... I consider myself lucky enough to find M.A.X. and M.A.X. 2 from shop's shelf in one box.

Isn't there came other WC games after Prophecy? I can remember there was supposed to be at least 2 more after Prophecy...

There was a free, episodic add-on (Special Ops, or something like that) that used the Prophecy engine, and was also released with Prophecy Gold. Nothing since, though.
