The US Naval Institute (www.usni.org) is digitizing the enormous stack of photos that were collected during WWII, but which are now deteriorating due to age.

You can:
a) look at the photos they have digitized so far, and buy (download or print) any that catch your fancy at www.usni.org (click the Photos tab)
b) Contribute to the USNI and direct that contribution to pay to help digitize these valuable historic records before they are lost. Any such contibution is tax deductible
