4.02 start location wierdness

Post by Kashre »

So everything is going great with the new patch, Im on Operation Firestorm... my poor cruiser was all beat up so I transfered to a different cruiser squadron, typhoon, just before being sent to Kolchev. First mission: Patrol. Ok, so I load it up and low and behold, not only did I start right in the middle of an enemy cruiser squadron, my ship is in the exact same space as an enemy cruiser!

Now that was different :)

Log: the log has 2 missions in it cause there was no CTD I guess, it happened on MSN-013.

Yep, a similar thing happened to me on the first mission after I transferred squadrons (mind you, I didn't change my carrier group, just the squadron within the group):

The mission started in space instead of the launch bay and I was immediately teleported through a farcaster to who knows where.

I quickly hit escape-2, then tried the mission again. No problems the second time around.

Actually they are somewhat unrelated. Both are faults in the DEF files, but one seems to be clearly a problem with the campaign system placing two squadrons in the same location (the "Agressor" and "Stormwind" are both leads for their squadrons); whereas the other is more subtle.

However I :have: managed to duplicate (accidentally) the disappearing carrier behaviour in a custom mission.

unfortunately i then went to watch a movie and when I get back i forgot about the problem and modified the file several times before I rememberd.
