Demoted from Lt. Cmd. to Ensign!?

I just finished up a great mission in the Op: Highland, ranking up about 300 points. After docking I was awarded by being Demoted from Lt. Cmd. to Engisn.

I checked the logbook, and my experience was 640 all of a sudden.

I then noticed that my character named "Vego" was gone. Instead there was just a character named "Pilot". My old player seems to be gone. [&:]


I attached the error log incase there is something there that might help.

I just tried to click create, to make a 2nd pilot, in addition to the "Pilot" character that replaced my old one. And I am unable to create a new player. Clicking the "Create" button does nothing.[&:]

you may have to rename the pilot named 'pilot' before you can create another guy.

I ended up deleting the pilot named "Pilot". Sadly this also deleted my saved games, but it's my own fault for not backing those up.

I was suprised that by clicking the "Create" button to make a new player, I didn't get the option to create the character as a Lt. with 2000 xp, like I did when I first started the game.

I deleted my pilots.cfg to get the original welcome screen to come up.

If the Create button in the logbook area isn't supposed to give you the option to make a new character have 2000 xp and start as a Lt., I think it might be a good idea to adjust that.

I had something similar happen. Op. Highland, I destroyed the Separatist's base. I did a couple more missions, and then that mission came up again, it was like I hadn't done it in the first place. I looked at my points and it seemed I had lost credit for that kill (2000+ points), but I can't be sure. If I *did* lose points, it wasn't enough to get demoted.

Speaking of points earned, doesn't it seem weird that the guy who gets the last shot in gets all the points? I've done attack runs on that base, all missles hit their target, I land safely, and I get very few points because the target didn't go down. OTOH, my wingman take the building down from green to a sliver of red, I finish the job, and I get 2000. It just seems like it ought to be more evenly distributed, based on damage done, no?
