Release date?

Post by BrutusBuk »

I recently heard a rumor that the release date has been pushed back to this summer or fall. Is this accurate?

We are hoping to get the game out in the next few weeks, internet code integration is a challange to overcome and we will know more about a release date in the next week or so.

How big do you expect the game to be (in file size)? Image

If I'm not mistaken it will probably be in the 250mb range. I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong... Image

A 250 MB download? Jeez! I would hardly think so. But, it could be, but I doubt it.

Hi.
I checked the features section and saw nothing about this 'internet code'...
So here is my question : will it be some form of PBEM or something like head to head play between 2 computers ?

thanks

This will be very similar to the head to head play in the "online" version of SP3 that came in the Arsenal pack and is available at Mplayer.com.

Up to four players (3 on 1 or 2 on 2) can link via TCP/IP and play with a time limit per player turn.

I am not sure how many players the SP:WaW version will support.

What a nice surprise...a workable SP forum. Thanks to those responsible.

I had heard the the download size would be much larger than previous spWW2 efforts. Also there was some talk as to a CD version of SPW@W. I would think SSI would object. Any news?

If the game is going to be this large, will it be available on CD? It will take a week to download 250mb for us "poor" folks that don't have a T1 line.

Right now it is in the neighborhood of 150MB, we are working on potential alternatives to DL, but we have no definite word on alternative distribution.

We will annouce any developments as soon as we know...I promise!!

You could have segmented downloads. Say, 30-50MB each. Granted it's still gonna take time to download over anything else than a cable modem.

Download aids like getright and gozilla let you resume downloads when you want.

We are looking into ways to reduce the download size, hopefully we can make it somewhat smaller...but no promises!

Most definitely, B&G! That is a great idea! So when my modem drops carrier, I don't have to completely start from the beginning of the whole friggin' download, just a segment!
