How many copies is considered to be gold rating fot computer games?

Its not a number but a milestone - when the code is 'locked down' for production and no more changes are allowed it is often pressed on a "ultra high quality" master disk that is gold in color.

That is the origin of the term "gone gold" in computer game parlance.
