problem with allied MSW

Hi, heres my problem

Any time i click on a certain type of minsweeper (like the whyalla) to see its stats / armament, the game goes to a black screen and crashes, same if those ship are involved in a surface engagement.

Other ships like the dorsey class minsweeper dont have this problem.

Could this be a missing graphic file, ive tried reinstalling, but i think my CD is scratched cuz it wont finish the lasy (approx) 2% of the install...am i missing a file??
