PILOT EDITOR QUESTION FOR THE GAME CODING GUYS

Post by spence »

I recently have been trying to create a scenario using the scenario editor. When I opened the list of pilots I found that the overwhelming majority of USN pilots listed in the database are fighter pilots. For the original batch of US CVs the pilots in the editor data base represent the majority of those in the historical squadron (a bit more tedious work needed here but a good working hyporthesis). The bomber squadron commanders and perhaps a few other bomber pilots of some historical note are there but most are absent. So my questions are these:

1. Are the pilots in a bombing squadron randomly generated based on the squadrons average experience at the start of the scenario?

2. Same as above except based on commander's experience instead of squadron's?

3. a)Can one generate a bombing squadron with higher than average overall experience at the start of a scenario using the computer? or
b) must it be done by adding in bomber pilots of high experience to the data base pilots ?

4. If a) above is there some highest value/lowest value for experience in the pilot pool that the computer will use and if a pilot is generated with high experience in the pool does that concurrently generate one of miserable experience that some other squadron will ultimately get?
