game quits for no reason help :)

Greetings...
I am writing to ask for help in what I am unable to resolve... I am running a HP ze5200 2.8 ghz notebook with 1.0 gig of memory. I believe the problem may be in the icon setup to run the exe. The game will usually crash after I hit the resolve turn button. Sometimes I don't have a problem, and sometimes the problem will creep up after a few turns. Usually the game crashes and I am forced to reboot the computer as I can't get alt cntl delete to work. Once and awhile the game will crash back my desktop and I can't figure out why. Anyone out there have any ideas? Thanks.

Do the standard 2 tricks. Locate 'steel.prf' file from your saves folder and delete it. You have to reset your preferences afterwards, as they are kept in this .prf file ehich occasionally gets corrupted. Then start the game from 'quick start' or directly from mech.exe.

These two tricks cure majority of 'odd behaviour' style problems. If they do not work, update drivers and try shutting down all unnecessary background programs.

I reviewed some of your remedies and still cannot stop the game from going blacking out (no air raid)[:D]. It has been repeating itself when I get to "Gold" and try to release CNO (commandoes), about the fifth turn.
